Charley Hull went straight from her participation at the Paris 2024 Olympics to Trump Turnberry in Scotland. There, she played a round of golf as part of her preparation for the link course conditions she will face at the Women's Scottish Open and the AIG Women's Open.
Hull posted a video clip on her Instagram profile, showing part of her round at Trump Turnberry. She also spoke with Bunkered about the excellent conditions at the course.
When asked if major championships should return to Trump Turnberry, Charley Hull had this to say:
"A hundred per cent [yes]. I think it’s a shame, it’s a really top track. Honestly, it’s one of the best golf courses in the world. It would be a shame not to be on there."
Trump Turnberry has hosted numerous major championships. It has played host to four editions of The Open Championship (1977, 1986, 1994 and 2009), two editions of The Women's Open (2002, 2015) and seven editions of The Senior Open (1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2003, 2006 and 2012).
Following the US Capitol events in January 2021, the R&A decided to remove Turnberry from its championship rotation due to the venue being owned by former US President Donald Trump.
