Australian golfer Jason Day is an integral part of the 2024 Presidents Cup International team, who are looking for their first win since 1998. Day is confident that this year the team has the potential to pick up a win against the overwhelming favorites.

Speaking ahead of the Presidents Cup, Day said that the team has been able to build an environment, which is the one thing that they were lacking when it came to team dynamics. He credited captain Mike Weir as well as assistant captains Ernie Els, Nick Price and Trevor Immelman for building the passion in the team.

Talking about the dynamics, Jason Day said (according to Yahoo):

"I think that's the one thing that we were potentially lacking was potentially that, and I think since those guys have really changed the environment and what we play for, I think that's helped a lot. We know that we're stepping in the right direction. It's going to happen at some point. We've just got to keep doing what we're doing."

Day also went on to say that the US team is strong, regardless of whether they are playing the Presidents Cup or the Ryder Cup. However, he claimed that this time the International team has gotten a lot closer, which has 'dramatically improved' the situation for them.

"The guys have gotten a lot closer, and not necessarily the same guys over and over again, but I'm just saying that the actual team element, the team environment has shifted a lot since when I first started. I know that it's improved dramatically, especially when Ernie kind of took over, changed the flag to the shield, and then we had Nick Price, as well, who was a great captain."

The 2024 Presidents Cup is being played at the Royal Montreal Golf Club from September 24 to 29.
