After playing the role of a commentator at the Netflix Cup, Joel Dahmen is back at the Creator Classic on August 28 before the Tour Championship tees off. The Creator Classic will be a nine-hole tournament at the East Lake Golf Course on Wednesday before the last FedEx event begins.
As Dahmen returns to the broadcast booth at the East Lake Golf Course, he detailed his plan for the same. He joined the SiriusXM PGA Tour podcast and began explaining how he'd not get Marshawn Lynch or Bert Kreischer as commentators in the booth. Rather, he'd have to work with Mark Immelman, Jake Marsh, and others.
“Yeah. Without Marshawn or Bert Kreischer, I'm not sure. I got to work with Mark Immelman. I think Jake Marsh is leading it up. And then Rapaport and how he led that will be on the ground,” Joel Dahmen said.
He added how the commentary this time would be more professional as compared to his last stint at the Netflix Cup, which took place in November 2023. But Joel Dahmen would have something to do on August 28.
“So be a little more professional. I'm thinking we won't get Marshawn lost in the trees. Bert Kreischer won't be taking off his shirt in that sense. They're just asking me to call golf. I think I can tell a seven iron in the air and tell them where it ends up, but that'll give me something to do on Wednesday afternoon,” Dahmen said.
The Creator Classic will have Paige Spiranac on the field and can be streamed through the PGA Tour's YouTube channel, Peacock, ESPN+, and others.
Joel Dahmen couldn't qualify for the PGA Tour’s FedEx playoffs and therefore the golfer is utilizing his time in broadcasting. His last tournament was the Wyndham Championship, where he finished with an even-par score.
