John Daly remains one of the most popular golfers even as he is set to turn 59 in a few months. He's a star on the PGA Tour Champions and occasionally makes an appearance in Major championships.
In 2025, he's going to play 19 tournaments, and he revealed them all on his Instagram account in a reel. He captioned his post:
"Y’all better buckle up—2025 is gonna be a ride! Check out my schedule to see where I’m swingin’ through this year. From tournaments to good times, we’re just gettin’ started. Let’s #GripItAndRipIt all over again!"
Daly will visit several different locations to play golf in 2025, including:
- Augusta National
- Dallas, Texas
- Houston, Texas
- Birmingham, Alabama
- Des Moines, Iowa
- Madison, Wisconsin
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Akron, Ohio
- Calgary, Canada
- St. Louis, Missouri
- Jacksonville, Florida
If you are in or around any of those locations, then Daly will be on display at some point this year. Golf travels all around the country during the year, and Daly will jet back and forth for the 19 tournaments from now until late summer. He won't be out there every weekend, but he will be on the course more often than he's not.
Daly may be retired from the PGA Tour, but he's certainly not retired from professional golf. 19 events is more than what is on the LIV Golf schedule, so the veteran golfer is hardly taking a step back even as he approaches 60 years of age.
John Daly's 'emergency surgery'
Though he's still on track to make the first of his 19 scheduled appearances of the year, John Daly is not golfing right now. The veteran golfer said on January 14 that he's recovering from "emergency hand surgery" according to ESPN.
The two-time Major winner posted the news to Instagram, confirming that he'd had the successful surgery. He added:
"Thank you to Doc McClimans for getting me mended back! Should be hitting em again soon! [Thanks] for all the messages."
The 58-year-old golfer did not reveal what caused the surgery and why it was an emergency, but he said that he'd be back soon enough. Last year, the fan-favorite golfer played 16 events on the PGA Tour Champions. He made the cut in all but one, so he had a pretty strong year. NUCLR Golf shared his surgery news to their X account and wished him well in his recovery as well.
John Daly rose to fame in the 1990s for his "grip it and rip it" style of play, something he referenced when announcing his 19-tournament schedule for the year. He also got the attention of fans with his unique attire and non-traditional behavior on and off the golf course.
