John Daly fires a gun for a 'real shotgun start' for Legacy Golf Course in Mason City

Legendary Golfer John Daly is known for his larger-than-life personality. The two-time Major Champion recently fired an actual shotgun on the launch of his own brand of vodka. The event was held at Legacy Golf Course in Mason City, Iowa.

Daly posted a video of the moment on his X account on Thursday, August 29. In the clip, he is wearing a yellow short-sleeved shirt with patterned green shorts. To kick off the event, Daly shoots at a stack of boxes filled with carbonated drinks, causing an outpour of liquid. He then drinks his brand of vodka from a can.

While shooting the carbonated boxes, he exclaimed:

"Welcome to the real shotgun start"

John Daly wrote on X:

"a real SHOTGUN start for Legacy Golf Course at the 19 in Mason City, IA…Daly style! (no one was hurt expect for those nasty carbonated drinks! My @goodboyvodka is non carbonated, sugar free, 95 calories& gf!) LFG!"

Daly's mention of 'no one was hurt except for those nasty carbonated drinks' refers to his preference for non-carbonated drinks. Daly is known for drinking Diet Coke. He promoted his brand of vodka 'Goodboyvodka' and described it as non-carbonated, sugar-free, gluten-free, and low in calories. The 'LFG' at the end of the post stands for "Let's F***ing Go."

John Daly recently played in the Ally Challenge in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He finished tied at 58th at the tournament. He'll next play in the Ascension Charity Classic in St Louis, MO.
