All about John Daly's Heart of a Lion Foundation
John Daly gained attention as a professional golfer right from his debut. Daly was one of the longest hitters of the golf ball, especially off the tee, and won his first major championship in 1991 on his debut.
Daly started the Heart of a Lion Foundation in July 2020 to give back to society and make an impact on the world of philanthropy.
The foundation focuses mostly on children, first responders, and the nation's veterans, providing mental, physical, and wellness support.
John Daly organizes various charity golf events through the Heart of a Lion Foundation, mostly in Arkansas, and has around 82 organizations funded, with 70% of the funding staying local.
The two-time major championship winner has Chick Linski to assist him as the President, while Monica Hites is the executive director. They also have Darren McBurnett, a former SEAL, as the ambassador.
“He’s just a guy who wants to leave a legacy, and he loves these kids, and he loves these vets. If he had all his winnings from back in the day, he wouldn’t use it to do anything else but helping people. I’m not sure when he came to that epiphany, but now that’s all we talk about," Rick Leslie, the former director of the foundation, said.
