John Daly is known for his unique diet for a professional golfer. He smokes and drinks a lot, and he once confessed to drinking an impressive amount of Diet Coke while playing on the PGA Tour.
It is fitting that he shared his New Year's Eve plans, and they of course include some alcohol. Good Boy Vodka, an alcohol brand that was inspired by Daly, shared a video of the former PGA Tour star pouring the signature vodka into a massive glass. The caption read:
"How you'll find us for the rest of 2024."
Daly, complete with a cigarette and hat, poured the entire can of vodka into his huge container before picking the glass up to imbibe. There was laughter and cheering from the audience that loved seeing Daly in his element.
The brand had also posted yesterday about their New Year's Eve plans, and they included a ton of the same vodka cans that Daly had poured into his cup. People consume an average of 4.4 alcoholic drinks on New Year's Eve, and Good Boy Vodka, as well as Daly, know that today is a great chance to market themselves.
Tiger Woods met John Daly at the PNC Championship
At the PNC Championship, a lot of father/son or family duos compete in a mixed-team event that is unofficially a part of the PGA Tour. Tiger Woods and his son placed second to Bernhard Langer and his at this year's event. John Daly and his son were also at the tournament.
There, the two longtime PGA Tour stars met up again for the first time in a while. Daly and Woods have been involved in a number of exchanges over the years, and they added a hilarious one in December.
Woods was greeting fans when he saw Daly and smiled. Via Golf.com, he said:
“I’ll meet you in the gym.”
They then exchanged hugs, before John Daly laughed and said:
“At least our gyms are three-letter words. Yours is g-y-m. Mine is b-a-r.”
Woods could only agree and laugh back at Daly. The entire exchange harkened back to a previous story from 2016 when Daly revealed that he'd asked Woods to have a beer with him:
“Tiger’s there in his workout clothes, and I said, Tiger, come have a beer with us, man."
In that story, Woods declined politely, but Daly kept up the pressure:
"I go, man, you don’t need to work out. You need to drink a little bit with us.”
Daly revealed the surprising response from the legendary golfer:
“[Woods] said, ‘If I had your talent, I’d be doing the same thing you’re doing.' I’m looking at him thinking, ‘You’re crazy, man.’”
All these years later, Daly is still trying to get Woods to have a drink with him.
