"Jon Rahm failed again???" - Fans slam $100,000,000 LIV Golf star for 'choke' job at Greenbrier

Fans on social media slammed Jon Rahm for missing out on his second consecutive LIV Golf title at the recent Greenbrier event. The Spanish golfer was in contention to win the Saudi Circuit event and finished tied for the lead after three rounds on Sunday, August 18. He competed in a playoff against Brooks Koepka but failed to secure the title.

Jon Rahm last won the LIV Golf UK event and was close to a second victory of the season but missed the title. However, fans were dissatisfied with his performance and expressed their frustration on social media.

NUCLR Golf shared a post on Brooks Koepka's incredible win at the LIV Golf Greenbrier on its X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:

"#CHAMPION — Brooks Koepka claims his 5th LIV GOLF individual title, defeating Jon Rahm in a playoff at The Greenbrier."

Fans in the comments section slammed Rahm.

"Rahm failed again???," a fan wrote.
"Rahm chokes again," another fan wrote.

One fan commented that Rahm might be regretting his decision to join LIV Golf. Notably, Rahm joined LIV Golf last year after an impressive season on the Tour, where he won four tournaments in 2023.

"Rahm is starting to regret his decision again," a fan jotted.

A quick recap of Jon Rahm's performance at LIV Golf Greenbrier 2024

Jon Rahm began his campaign at the 2024 LIV Golf Greenbrier event on Friday, August 16. He teed off on the first hole for the opening round and made a birdie on the first hole. Rahm played a bogey-free opening round, carding four birdies and an eagle to post a score of 6-under 64.

Rahm maintained his strong form in the second round as well. He started his game on Saturday, August 17, on the second hole with a par. He made pars on three holes before adding a birdie on the fifth. However, he struggled on the par-3 eighth hole and made a bogey.

However, Rahm quickly recovered, shooting a birdie on the 10th, followed by three back-to-back birdies and an eagle on the 17th. He added two more birdies to conclude the round with an 8-under 62.

In the final round on Sunday, August 18, Rahm started with a birdie on the first hole and made five more birdies. However, he also made one bogey, finishing the round with a 5-under 65. He ended the three rounds with a score of 19-under, tying with Brooks Koepka. They both competed in a playoff, where Koepka clinched his fifth victory on the Saudi Circuit.

Rahm finished as the runner-up, while Jason Kokrak secured a solo third-place finish. Marc Leishman and Richard Bland tied for fourth place.
