Brooks Koepka won the LIV Golf Greenbrier in a playoff against Jon Rahm, who was looking to register two consecutive wins after winning the LIV Golf UK event a couple of weeks back. The Spanish golfer was leading at Greenbrier going into the final round but missed out on the victory in the playoffs.

Koepka registered his fifth LIV Golf victory and became the first golfer to have five LIV trophies. Koepka said this victory was special for him as he had battled against "a hell of a player".

Koepka said:

"I think this is probably my favorite one. It's always good when you battle good players. Jon is a hell of a player. For whatever reason he's always got the better of me a little bit as of late," Koepka said.

Koepka appreciated Rahm's effort and said he wanted to beat the Spaniard as he had defeated Koepka at the Masters in 2023:

"I think this one just meant a little bit more, for the last few years playing Jon and obviously he got the better of me at Augusta," Koepka said. "I just wanted to beat him. He played phenomenal today. The way he finished down the stretch was pretty clutch, and it was fun to watch him this week."

The LIV Golf Greenbrier was Koepka's second victory this season, as he previously won the LIV Golf Singapore event. Despite two victories, Koepka is placed 7th in the season-long individual standings and has no chance of winning the Individual Championship.

The title looks to be a battle between Rahm and Joaquin Niemann, as no other golfer has a chance of winning the individual championship. The Spanish golfer currently leads the standings with 195.17 points, while Niemann has 192.20 points. The next golfer in the standings is Tyrell Hatton with 143.49 points.

The final individual championship event, in Chicago, starts September 13.
