LIV golfer Matthew Wolff recently opened up about his mental struggles on the golf course during an episode of Fairway to Heaven. He reflected on how he deals with issues while playing.

Wolff explained that his caddie helps him calm down during periods of frustration, enabling him to perform well in tournaments. He also stated that golfers like Jon Rahm and Tiger Woods have also experienced such frustrations while playing.

"Anyone who struggles with getting frustrated or angry and stuff, it's just you got to let it go got to just or almost like learn to like Channel it too. That's what My caddie always tells me whenever I get pissed, and I'm always like, dude, I don't know why I'm getting pissed. He's like no, like it's good to rage; he's like all the best ever like have raged. If you're the greatest to do something you're going to get frustrated when you don't do it.
"So he's like, you know your expectations are high, it's good. Rahm, Tiger, all those guys, like they've all raged before. We've all seen them throw clubs and yell, and it is what it is. But I think you have to learn to channel it and use it as a strength to get locked in." he added. (23:10-24:27)

Wolff currently plays for LIV Golf and has participated in nine tournaments this season. His most recent performance was a 16th-place finish at the Nashville event.

It's important to note that Matthew Wolff played for Smash GC during the first two seasons of LIV Golf. However, after a conflict with team captain Brooks Koepka last year, he was traded to RangeGoats GC for the third season.

Matthew Wolff speaks about the importance of interaction with fans

In the Fairway to Heaven interview, Matthew Wolff also spoke about what he had learned over the last few years. He talked about self-realization and the importance of interacting with fans. He said:

"I think the most important thing that I've learned is like I could have an effect on other people positively without playing good golf. And obviously like the goal is to always play good golf and stuff. But if you can give your time to sign autographs or like interact with fans and kind of joke with them and laugh with them and stuff and just like kind of give them the time of day, obviously there's a point." Matthew Wolff has been playing golf professionally since 2019. He had a successful career on the PGA Tour before joining LIV Golf. Wolff won one PGA Tour event at the 2019 3M Open, where he defeated Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa by one stroke to emerge victorious. He later joined the Saudi Circuit in 2022.

In 2024, Wolff started his season on LIV Golf at the Mayakoba event and finished in 28th place. He had two top-10 finishes, with his best performance coming at the Miami event, where he finished in third place. He also finished fourth at the Las Vegas event.

Aside from his PGA Tour and LIV Golf outings, Matthew Wolff also played in Majors and was the runner-up at the U.S. Open in 2022. He will next tee off at the Andalucia event, which is scheduled to take place at the Real Club Valderrama from July 12 to 14.
