Justin Rose finished as a runner-up at the recently concluded The Open Championship 2024. Rose lagged two shots behind Xander Schauffele at the 152nd Open at Royal Troon Golf Club in Troon, Scotland.

After 54 holes, Rose was tied at T2 with Schauffele. Rose carded 67 in the final round while Schauffele scored a splendid 65. Had Rose won, he would have ended the drought of winning a Major after more than 10 years. Rose hasn't won a Major since he won the 2013 US Open by two strokes over Phil Mickelson and Jason Day.

All four Majors were won by Americans this year. This has happened after more than four decades. Scottie Scheffler won the Masters, Xander Scahuffele won the PGA Championship and The Open Championship while Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open.

In the post-tournament press conference, Rose was asked if he was worried about all Majors going to Americans. Rose said (via ASAP Sports):

"I mean, well, I shouldn't be worried. They're great players, do you know what I mean? It doesn't surprise me that some of the top players in the world are American, 100 percent. Scottie, Xander, obviously Bryson came out and proved again that he's a top player. Who am I missing?"

The reporter reminded Rose that Xander won two Majors. Rose said:

"Of course he did, yeah. Huge year for Xander. It doesn't surprise me, though. He's got all the weapons."

Xander Schauffele won $3.1 million and 750 FedExCup points. He is still around 2000 FedExCup points behind Scottie Scheffler. He has also jumped from the third position to the second as per the Official World Golf Ranking, overtaking Rory Mcllroy.

All four Majors were last won by Americans in 1982. Tom Watson won the US Open and The Open Championship. Craig Stadler won the Masters tournament and Raymond Floyd claimed victory at the PGA Championship.
