The 2025 Ryder Cup is only months away and the tournament is all US captain Keegan Bradley can think about right now. The golfer recently revealed he has been having dreams about the biennial event.
The Ryder Cup has always been touted as a clash of titans with the US golfers taking on their European counterparts.
This year, the US will be hosting the prestigious competition at the Bethpage Black in New York. Bradley talked about the dreams he has been having about the event:
"I'm thinking, like, I had a dream last night, a Ryder Cup dream last night. I just have 'em all the time."
He further added:
"I'm dreaming about -- well, one, I can't get to the course, like one of those, and I'm like stressed out…But I dream about being at Bethpage a lot, it's constantly on my mind."
The European side will be arriving on the course as the defending champion having won the 2023 edition. The home team however has been nursing its wounds since the past two years and will be looking to win back the title this year.
"I would love to be a playing captain" - When Keegan Bradley announced his aspirations for the 2025 Ryder Cup
2025 US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley expressed his ambition of also making the team last year. He had said that he wanted to be a "playing captain".
"I would love to be a playing captain. No one has really had the opportunity that I’ve had," Keegan Bradley had said via The Mirror.
The Ryder Cup teams feature a total of 12 players, out of which six are automatic qualifiers and six are captain's picks. And while making the team through automatic qualification is a tough route, Bradley had stated that he wouldn't want to make the team through the latter option.
"It’s going to be really hard for me to make that team, but if I make the team, I’ll play. I don’t see myself being a captain’s pick, but I’ll be proud just to be the captain. If I have to go out there and play, I’d love to do that, too."
This year, the 38-year-old kickstarted his season at The Sentry in Hawaii. He is currently placed T9 in the ongoing Round 3 of the event with a score of 12-under. He has been grouped alongside Harry Hall and Cameron Young for the third round.
