Xander Schauffele off to a great start at the 2024 Olympics

Xander Schauffele has made a strong start at the 2024 Olympics, going 6-under after just thirteen holes. He has been bogey-free so far and picked up six birdies. He closed the front nine at 5-under-31 with the help of five birdies.

Schauffele is two strokes behind Hideki Matsuyama, who carded an 8-under 63 in his opening round. Sami Valimaki was also at 8-under with just one hole to go. Joaquin Niemann, Emiliano Grillo, and Tom Kim each carded a 5-under 66 on the first day at Le Golf National.
