Ladies European Tour Aramco Team Series details explained

The Aramco Team Series is a women's professional golf event that started in 2020. The tournament is a part of the Ladies European Tour.

The first tournament of the Aramco Team Series was played at the Royal Greens Golf & Course Club in King Abdullah Economic City.

The Aramco Saudi Ladies International had already concluded earlier this year, with Lydia Ko lifting the trophy.

The current World No. 1 female golfer will also be playing in the Aramco Team Series.

This year, the tournament will be held at five different locations across three different countries. It has a total purse of $5 million which will be $1 million for an event.

The 2023 edition will return with a team format whose captains are seeded based on the official Women's World Golf Rankings.

LET Tour increases the purse for the 2023 season

The Ladies European Tour (LET) has increased the prize money for the 2023 season. The new season comes with exciting changes and more opportunities for women golfers.

Speaking about the changes, LET CEO Alexandra Armas said:

"The LET has grown rapidly over the last three years and we have been oversubscribed for our recent Q-School, demonstrating the record level of interest. The LET now presents a platform for women to build a successful career and achieve their dreams in professional golf. We will continue to work hard to elevate the sport in Europe and around the world."

It is important to note that the Aramco Saudi Ladies International, presented by PIF, had a purse of $5 million, which is among the highest purses slated for the new season.

The AIG Women's Open, which is scheduled from August 17-20, has the biggest purse of the year at $7.3 million.

However, in comparison to men's events, the purse is pretty small. The Saudi government has established LIV Golf, which has an astonishing annual purse of $250 million.
