The 2024 LIV Golf season's final individual event is currently underway at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Chicago. This is the final individual championship event before the season concludes next week at the LIV Golf Dallas Team Championship event. Fans have shared their reactions to news that the LIV Golf Chicago event saw the highest-ever one-day attendance on Saturday for the second round.

After round two, LIV Golf's official Communications account on X (formerly Twitter) said that around 15 thousand fans were present on the course on Saturday.

The post said,

"Saturday's attendance of more than 15,000 for Rd. 2 #LIVGolf Chicago has set a new LIV Golf single-day attendance record for U.S. events."

Fans reacted to this tweet, with some making comments in jest, and some comparing the numbers to other golf events.

"Less than half the @TheSolheimCup attendance," a fan wrote.

"15k is a record? Lol....my lord," another added.

"Really good for exhibition golf," a fan remarked.

However, some fans also congratulated LIV Golf.

Jon Rahm leads the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago event

Jon Rahm played scintillating golf on Saturday to take a lead of one stroke at the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago event. Rahm carded six birdies as his score remained bogey-free at 6-under for the day, and 7-under for the event.

The overnight leader, Brooks Koepka, had a disappointing second round as he carded 3-over for the day and is two strokes behind the leader at 5-under, sharing second spot with the Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia.

The 2024 LIV Golf Chicago is the final event which will decide the season-long individual champion.

Rahm and Joaquin Niemann are the only golfers in contention to win the individual championship, as no other golfer can catch these two. Rahm has 195.17 points, while Niemann has 192.20 points.

Even though Rahm looks favorite to win the season-long LIV Golf individual championship, Nieman is only three strokes behind at -4. The final round could be a cliffhanger of a finish to LIV Golf Chicago and the individual championship as well.
