PGA Tour Pro Michael S. Kim is often vocal about his thoughts on social media, and the golfer has yet again expressed his opinion about a topic related to golf. In a recent post on X, Kim slammed the obsession with videoing swing after swing.
Jon Sherman, the author of the book 'Four Foundations of Golf', shared a post on X regarding the inutility of video recording a swing. He wrote:
“Why taking video of your swing is a bad idea* (I'll explain the asterisk at the end).”
Kim later reshared the post and explained that he tried recording his shots but it never helped in polishing his golf skills. Rather, the shots should be sent to a golf coach or analyst for better feedback. Kim wrote:
“Few yrs back, I spent too much time videoing swing after swing trying to get a certain look or position and it never helped. Send videos to your coach and let the pros analyze ur swing.”
Two days back, Kim also commented on the art of visualization in golf. He explained that the entire mental game is not about visualization but there are other aspects as well.
“Too many people think of the entire mental game as visualization. Visualization isn’t the end all be all. Visualization can be useful but a small part in the grand scheme of things. I think the most important thing (at least for me) is being in the present. Not letting the what ifs distract me from what I’m trying to do,” Michael S. Kim wrote.
Michael S. Kim last played at the RSM Classic, where he finished at T11 with 12 under 270.
