Lexi Thompson misses Amundi Evian Championship 2024 for the fourth time in five years

Lexi Thompson will not play at the Amundi Evian Championship this year. This is the fourth time since 2019 Thompson that has missed the Major. The last time Lexi Thompson played at the Evian Resort Golf Club was in 2019 when her tournament struggles gave her a tough time. She had missed the cut and then voiced her frustrations via Instagram, though the post was later deleted.

“I’m actually very thankful that I don’t have to put myself thru that for another two days. You’re a beautiful place Evian but that’s just too many bad breaks with good shots for me, so bye,” Lexi Thompson wrote via Instagram.

This year, Lexi Thompson's overall form has been average. She has missed five cuts in the LPGA tournaments until now. The list of missed cuts includes two Majors: the Chevron Championship and the US Women's Open. Just before the US Women's Open on May 28, Thompson also announced her retirement at the end of this season. She revealed the reason behind her decision was her mental health concerns.

Lexi Thompson last participated in the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, where she had a top-ten finish of T9. There's still no confirmation about the next tournament Lexi Thompson will participate in.
