“Literally whatever he wants”: Jordan Spieth on the fan who saved his TPC hopes

Jordan Spieth's shot hit a fan but it saved his hopes of the Players Championship on Friday (March 10).

Well, what happened was that Spieth's drive on the ninth hole at TPC Sawgrass was heading right into the water, however, there was a twist to come. The ball hit the spectator who was standing near the water and fell back into the fairway instead of rough.

Jordan Spieth was so grateful for this that he gifted him a golf glove and added that he deserved more.

Later, Spieth said that he got an extremely lucky break on the ninth hole, otherwise he wouldn’t be playing on the weekend.

“Trying to get that guy’s information and see literally whatever he wants this weekend because everything from here on out is because it hit him, " said three times Major champion.

Spieth finished at even par after two rounds of golf at TPC Sawgrass and the cut looks to be 1 over.

“I mean, it’s the equivalent of flying a green towards a hazard and hitting a grandstand and coming back on the green in a way," Spieth was quoted later.

The second day at TPC Sawgrass was affected by the weather and only 15 players were able to complete the 18 holes, with Jordan Spieth being one of them. He will be hoping that the cut remains at 1-over as he sits at even par after 36 holes.
