LIV Golf is reportedly expanding its footprint in Asia with plans to bring its tournament to Japan for the 2026 season. Just a few days ago, the Saudi-backed league announced LIV Golf Korea.
According to the X account Flushing It (@Flushingitgolf), LIV Golf's CEO Greg Norman reportedly visited Japan to meet Japan Golf Tour Chairman Yutaka Morohoshi. The duo discussed the potential for Japan to host one of the LIV tournaments in the Asian country.
The X handle also posted a picture of Norman in a meeting. The screen behind him displayed a presentation titled "LIV Golf Japan." It read:
"Opportunity to launch LIV Golf in Japan starting in 2026, either as a regular season event or season-ending LIV Golf Team Championship."

It is to be noted that details about the LIV Golf tournament to be held in Japan in 2026 haven't been made official yet.
Flushing It Golf also added that the LIV Golf will look to add top players from the area in the upcoming off-season. The X account wrote in the post:
"In addition to this, I expect they will be looking to add some high profile players from this region during the off season. Particularly with the Ironheads, who lost Scott Vincent to relegation a few weeks ago,"
If Japan hosts the season-ending LIV Golf Team Championship, it'll be the first time, it'll be hosted outside of the United States. In 2023, the Team Championship was held in Miami whereas in 2024 it was held in Dallas.
LIV Golf announces a tournament in Korea for the 2025 season
LIV Golf announced on Tuesday, November 13 that Korea will host a tournament in 2025. LIV Golf has announced 10 tournaments for the next season, with venues for four still to be announced.
On including Korea in the schedule, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman said:
"LIV Golf is growing across the globe in new and returning markets, and our 2025 schedule is a testament to “Bringing LIV Golf to South Korea is another significant milestone as we continue to expand throughout Asia, and our inaugural event in Indy will be a perfect match for a community steeped in sports history and tradition."
"We're excited to build on the tremendous success we had last year at new LIV Golf venues in Chicago, Dallas, and the UK, where we set new league attendance records and saw dramatic competition on the course," he added
This will be the fourth event in Asia in the 2025 season. LIV Golf tournaments have been played in Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Hong Kong in Asia. The LIV tournaments held in Asia from 202-24 are as follows:

- Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: October 14–16 at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.
2023:
- Singapore: April 28–30 at Sentosa Golf Club.

- Hong Kong: March 1–3 at Hong Kong Golf Club.
- Singapore: March 8–10 at Sentosa Golf Club.
