The 2025 Ryder Cup is set to be played at the Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale, New York, from September 26 to 28. With Tiger Woods turning down the offer for captaincy, the PGA of America has named Keegan Bradley to lead team USA to victory on their home grounds next year.

The news came as a surprise to the golf world as several fans worldwide expected an older and more experienced captain. LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau made his debut at the Ryder Cup in 2020 and wowed the crowd with his incredible drives.

In a press conference in Spain this week, the 2024 US Open winner took the opportunity to say that a younger captain would offer the team a new insight into the game and lead them to victory. DeChambeau said:

"I think it's a great opportunity for him, especially as it relates to younger players. He's going to see that younger threshold, and obviously relate to them a lot more, I would say, because of his age.
"I mean, what is he, 38 or something like that? So yeah, he's seeing the younger-generation game. He's out there still playing, and competing and it's great to have some relatability. As far as picking the best players, that's the right approach and I couldn't be more happy for him as captain.”

Keegan Bradley disclosed that he's not biased to players on the PGA Tour. The 2025 team USA Ryder Cup captain wants the "best 12 players" regardless of what tour they play on. With Bryson DeChambeau's stellar performance during Major championships this year, he's sure to be a valuable addition to the team.

Bryson DeChambeau will be turning 31 in September. With Keegan Bradley set to become the youngest captain in team USA's Ryder Cup history at just 38, the LIV Golf star says he would relate more to Bradley's approach to captaincy.
