LIV golfer Jon Rahm has joined PGA Tour heavyweights Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele in Data Golf's statistics in strokes gained in the 2024 season. Rahm is positioned third after Scheffler and Schauffle.
Scheffler is on the top with an average of 3.15 strokes gained per round while Schauffele is positioned second with an average of 2.73 strokes.
Rahm is third on the list with 2.12 strokes gained per round. He joined the Saudi breakaway Tour in December 2023. Since then, the Spanish player has been on the top of his game.
CBS's Kyle Porter shared the stat and said:
"A stat that surprised me. Strokes gained since Jan. 1 (worldwide) per @datagolf 1. Scottie: 3.15 2. Xander: 2.73 3. ... Rahm: 2.12."
The strokes-gained statistic evaluates a golfer's performance in several skills like driving, approach, and putting relative to the field. However, some people on X disagreed with the statistics saying that those between the PGA Tour and the Saudi circuit are incomparable.
"You can’t compare shots gained on the PGAT with that on LIV. The PGAT is the best players on the world playing on the most difficult setups," one said.
"Come on. It really matters who you gained the strokes against," another said.
Jon Rahm will next play in the league's Chicago event. The tournament will be held from Friday, September 12 to 14 at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Illinois.
