The TGL league, backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is also presenting a team-style format, just like the LIV Golf Series. The TGL, which will have its inaugural season in January 2024, is a tech-driven golf league that boasts six franchises and a team-style format.

The league has built its roster full of PGA Players, including the likes of Max Homa, Jon Rahm, and Justin Thomas just to name a few. Patrick Cantlay and Wyndham Clark were the final of the 24 players to be a part of the TGL teams for the inaugural season.

TGL and LIV Golf have completely different formats even though both highlight team-based competition. Interim LIV Golf COO Gary Davidson believes that there would really not be any issue if a TGL player were to join the LIV Series. Speaking via Yahoo Sports, Davidson said:

"We're open to who may want to play. We're not limiting where our players come (from) to play. We obviously want them to commit to play in our 14 team events."

LIV Golf Series would enjoy adding TGL players to its roster

LIV Golf would look forward to adding any of the players on the TGL roster to its own. The likes of Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, or any other players are exactly what the series needs for success.

"Beyond that we are very open to them playing in other tour events in other weeks, indeed on Monday night in TGL if they want to. It wouldn't cause any issues from our side," said Davidson.

Several names in LIV are anticipating the onboarding of new PGA Tour players for the next season. On the other hand, the TGL has finalised its 24 players, and five out of its six franchises.

TGL will consist of six teams with four PGAT players per team, competing head-to-head in an 18-hole match play. American golfer Patrick Cantlay is looking forward to the new series.

“The more I talked to the other players involved in TGL, the more I wanted to be a part of the competition," Cantlay said. "This is a great opportunity to move golf forward providing something for our core fans while also showcasing our sport in a new, tech-forward, prime time and more digestible format."

The new TGL will aim to bring about a fresh new kind of entertainment for golf fans all over the world
