LPGA pro Jiwon Jeon makes her third hole-in-one of the season, adds $20,000 to charity at The Annika

Jiwon Jeon is on a roll. The South Korean recently made her third hole-in-one at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. The penultimate event of the 2024 LPGA season is being played at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, from Thursday, November 14 to 17, 2024.

In the first round, on the third hole at the back nine, Jeon made a precise connection with her 5-hybrid and scored a splendid ace from her tee shot.

With her ace, she added $20,000 to CME Group’s donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The 2024 donation to the hospital so far has been $580,000, with $60,000 coming from Jeon.

Talking about it, Jiwon Jeon said (via LPGA):

"It definitely meant a lot for me that I was able to contribute some of the fundraising to St. Jude foundation. I'm really glad that I got to donate 60,000 this year. At least I can help with my hole-in-one. I want to keep doing it, but it's hard. I'm really glad that I was able to help the children out there that need help."

Jeon finished the round with a score of 6-under 66. She is currently tied at the top of the leaderboard with Charley Hull. She is currently positioned 98th in the Race to CME Globe standings. She said:

"I'm just inside the top 100 right now, and then obviously, I want to keep my card for next year, but I try not to think about it too much. I literally gave everything for the last three days (of) practice. I’m trying to figure out what I have to do out here and then really focus on each shot.

I think that work really paid off today. I want to continue to do the same thing for the rest of the rounds, rest of the tournament," she added.

If Jiwon Jeon wins the tournament, she'll get a chance to compete in the CME Group Tour Championship, as only the top 60 players in the CME Globe standings compete in the season.
