"I like looking at leaderboards. I think it's important to know where you're standing, and I did that today, and I saw some really good scores early on. Yeah, it makes you hungry and it makes you stay on the front foot and be aggressive, and felt like I did that well today," Aberg said (via Asap Sports).

Ludvig Aberg started the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open with an impressive round of 6-under 64. He teed off in the opening round with a par on the first two holes before adding a birdie on the third.
Aberg then shot a bogey on the fifth hole, followed by back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes and then a bogey on the eighth. He carded three birdies, two bogeys on the front nine and three birdies, and a splendid eagle on the back nine, finishing with a score of 64 in the opening round.
In the second round, Aberg started on the tenth hole and carded a birdie on the 11th. He shot four birdies on the front nine and two on the back nine, firing a bogey-free round of 6-under.
The Swedish golfer maintained his dominance on Saturday, shooting three birdies on the front nine and four on the back. He also added two bogeys to score 5-under 65, bringing his total to -17. Ludvig Aberg is in contention to win the tournament.
Robert MacIntyre shot a 63 on Saturday, jumping 13 positions on the leaderboard to take the second spot, followed by Adam Scott in third place. Defending champion Rory McIlroy is tied for eighth place with a score of -12. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, July 14.
