Lydia Ko has had an incredible season this year, with two wins on the LPGA Tour and a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is returning to the LPGA Tour after a break, as she competed for three weeks on the trot in August and won two of those three events.

Recently, Ko shared that winning the Olympics and Women's Open was the best stretch she has had, and regardless of the results, she was going to take three weeks off.

"I was always going to take the three weeks off regardless of what was going to happen in Europe. Obviously the best stretch I've had over a cumulative of three weeks with two wins there. But, yeah, I don't know if it has really sunk in yet," Ko said (via ASAP Sports).
"I think my husband and I kind of turn to each other at times and go, wow, I can't believe you won the Olympics and then the AIG Women's Open. So it was kind of like being punched in the face twice in a very good way. Obviously very grateful," the Olympic gold medalist said.

Lydia Ko added that it has not always been about wins, and that she has had her lows as well.

"I've had my own lows as well, and I think I'm most proud of being able to come through and on top of my struggles, because we all have it. And it's never easy getting out of it, but I think that's what I'm most proud of outside of just the results and the accolades in the end," Ko said.

A brief look at Lydia Ko's performance in 2024

Lydia Ko started her 2024 season on a high note as she won the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, the first event of the season on the LPGA Tour. After that, she finished runner-up at the LPGA Drive on Championship and had to wait for around six months for her next victory as she won the final Major championship of the year, the AIG Women's Open in Scotland.

Along with two wins, Ko has registered six top 10s and made 14 cuts from 16 events, showcasing her dominance and consistency throughout the season.

Lydia Ko is competing in the Kroger Queen City Championship this week on the LPGA Tour. She will look to maintain the form and momentum she created before taking a break of three weeks, where she won two events in three starts. Ko is paired with Charley Hull and Rose Zhang and has had a resonable start to the event as she carded -5 and remained T4 after day one.
