Max Homa claims winning TGL match on ‘vibes’ after humiliating loss

Max Homa claimed winning the 'vibes' at the TGL despite his team's humiliating loss in the series. Tiger Woods' created TGL series made its debut on January 7, and on January 14, it held its second match between Jupiter Links Golf Club and Los Angeles Golf Club.

Homa also made his debut at TGL, playing for Jupiter Links Golf Club in a team with Tiger Woods and Kevin Kisner on Jan. 14. However, the team struggled in their debut match and lost by 12-1. The TGL has a game on 15 holes, but Jupiter could only manage to win one hole in the entire game.

After their disappointing outing, Max Homa reflected on the game and shared his excitement about playing in it. On January 16, He shared some pictures on his Instagram story. In one snap, the American posted his reaction to losing the game, writing:

"0-1 on the season....."

He then shared another picture along with Woods and Kisner, captioned:

"1-0 on vibes."

In the match, both Jupiter and Los Angeles started with a draw on the first hole. However, LA soon took the lead by winning three back-to-back holes. The fifth hole resulted in a tie. Jupiter managed to score by winning the sixth hole, but the seventh ended in another tie. Los Angeles went on to win the eighth and ninth holes.

The first nine holes were held in a triples format, while the next six holes featured one-on-one singles matches. In the singles format, Los Angeles won four holes and ultimately secured victory by winning 12 holes overall.


Max Homa shares his experience of playing at TGL

Max Homa also shared a post on his Instagram account reflecting on his experience playing in the TGL. He posted some pictures with his team members and one with his wife, Lacey. Along with the snaps, he wrote:

"We got beat so bad they may kick us out the league but we definitely brought the most laughs."

Homa even opened up about the team's performance during the press conference of the tournament, saying (via ASAP Sports):

"We had them on the ropes a few times and Kev got a wind switch on that one par-3. I hit a rock that just came out of nowhere. Tiger couldn't seem to drop it in the rough and give himself a lie. I feel like we just got unlucky. I feel like if we get some better bounces next time, I think we've got a pretty good chance."

Next in the TGL, Atlanta Golf Club will play against New York Golf Club on Tuesday, January 21.
