Max Homa opened up on his recent split with his swing coach Mark Blackburn. The duo had been together since 2020, coming together after Homa's caddie Joe Greiner suggested Blackburn's name. The golfer was speaking ahead of the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Homa has won five PGA Tour titles and a European Tour win after his partnership with Blackburn. He will be competing in the tournament in Montreal for the second time. This year's tournament will begin in a few hours at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Talking about the change, Homa said (via PGA Tour):

"It's just a tough year. Time for a change. It's unfortunate, I love Mark. He's basically a part of my family. He's just been an amazing human being. But at times, the communication gets hard. I think everyone in here has gone through that at some point."

The swing coach has been previously named Gold Digest's No.1 teacher in the US. He was also named the 2020 PGA National teacher & coach of the year.

While talking to the PGA Tour, the World No. 25 said that he is currently without a coach and his swing is being helped by his caddie and a friend. He also added:

"As much as a coach can be brilliant, a genius like Mark, I know my golf swing better than anybody, and I can see it and feel it. Just trying to take some ownership like that."

Homa had a splendid outing at the 2022 Presidents Cup. He won all four of his matches for the US team, helping it win the tournament 17.5-12.5.
