Ahead of the event, Homa arrived at the venue and started with a practice round. During the practice session, Homa was spotted wearing black apparel and Puma golf shoes. Homa last competed at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and tied for 14th place in the DP World Tour event. Meanwhile, on the PGA Tour, he last played at the Zozo Championship and shot four rounds of 73, 66, 67, and 66, tying for the T27 position.
