Max Homa took a jab at the LIV Golf team Cleeks GC after the team replied to an online query after two years. Apart from golf, Homa is known for his sarcastic remarks on social media platforms and yet again the golfer showed his quirky side, giving a humorous reply to Cleek GC’s recent tweet.
The online back-and-forth fight began with Homa sharing a tweet in 2023 questioning the meaning of ‘Cleek’. He shared a photo of his Google search and wrote:
“Now that we’re all friends, is it too late for us to workshop some of these team names?”
On January 22, 2025, the Cleeks Golf Club answered that post, and each team member shared their perspective of the ‘Cleek’. Richard Bland showcased the trophies he won for his LIV Golf team and said:
“A cleek looks something like this.”
Next, Adrian Meronk said:
“What's a Cleek? I'd say it's talent with a touch of tradition.”
Frederik Kjetterup said:
“What's a Cleek? Come on Max. Even I know what a Cleek is and I just got here.”
Finally, captain Martin Kaymer said:
“It’s probably the oldest name for a golf club and these days we would call it a one or two iron. It's that easy.”
Following that, Max Homa didn't sit quiet and readily reshared the tweet with a savage reply. He wrote:
“Did u guys forget to press send 2 years ago or something?”
Homa is currently playing at the Farmers Insurance Open and he's standing at T146 with a score of 5 over. Before that, he played a TGL match for Jupiter Links and his team lost the game against Los Angeles Golf Club.
Max Homa wrote a heartwarming acknowledgement for LAFD heroes
Earlier this month, the first Los Angeles wildfire killed around two dozen people and destroyed several houses. Following that, Max Homa thanked the LAFD workers for their heroism on X and wrote:
“If u know anyone with the LAFD plz pass along our thanks and admiration for their heroism.”
Following that first wildfire, Homa spoke to the Palm Beach Post and explained how the first wildfire destroyed everything and created an eerie feeling.
“I know that these natural disasters happen far too often, however, this was the first one I can remember where every news clip, every time someone mentioned an area, I could picture it so well…It was very eerie,” Homa said.
The Los Angeles County wildfire occurred for the second time on Wednesday, but the destruction was less than that of the first fire.
Homa also wore LAFD inscribed on his shoes and hat at the Farmers Insurance Open to pay tribute after the second Los Angeles wildfire.
