Michael S. Kim recently reflected on his performance and shared his takeaways from the Farmers Insurance Open. The PGA Tour event concluded on Saturday, 25 at Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course in San Diego, California.
S. Kim failed to make the cut by nine strokes at the Farmers Insurance Open. He scored 5-over 77 in the first round and another 5-over 77 in the second round. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle after the event on Sunday, January 26, the 31-year-old started with a relatable statement for golfers:
"Golf Hard," he wrote.
Talking about his performance at the tournament, Michael S. Kim elaborated:
"In all seriousness, there are times where I miss the cut and feel like I have a million things to work on but this isn’t one of those times. I’ll still work on my game but good golf doesn’t feel that far away and I’m looking forward to the Waste management in a couple weeks," Kim added.
The 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open will be held from February 6 to February 9 at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona. Kim also called for a shot clock to be implemented and praised his PGA Tour rival, Sam Stevens.
Praising his fellow golfer, Kim wrote:
"Sam Stevens is really good at golf. His driver is impressive."
Stevens finished as a runner-up to Harris English by one stroke. S. Kim also shared a bizarre moment from the tournament where his foot slipped during his swing, unintentionally moving the club past the ball. However, to his relief, it wasn’t counted as a stroke.
This is Michael S. Kim's second missed cut in three events he has competed in the 2025 season. He missed the cut at the Sony Open while tied for 43rd at the American Express 2025.
