Min Woo Lee gave a shout-out to young Charlie after Tiger Woods's recent comment about his son. During the 2024 US Open practice rounds at Pinehurst No. 2 Golf Course, Tiger Woods and his son Charlie were joined by Max Homa and Min Woo Lee.
Following the practice, Woods revealed that his son was excited to see Lee and Homa at the golf course. In an interview with the PGA Tour, Woods said:
"It's neat for him to see the guys he watches on TV and YouTube and TikTok, whatever the hell it is they do. He was very excited to watch Max and Min Woo."
The Aussie took to his Instagram account to give a shout-out to Woods Jr. by sharing Tiger's comment with an emoji of a goat alongside the word "Charlie."
Charlie Woods often accompanies his father on the golf course, and for this week's Major, he has been helping his father with practice. Tiger Woods has been spotted at the US Open venue quite a few times before the commencement of the event. He will tee off at the Major on Thursday, June 13, at 7:29 a.m. ET on the tenth hole. Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick will join him.
Tiger Woods earned a special exemption from the USGA for this week's Major, and fans are undoubtedly looking forward to seeing him play.
Woods has previously won the US Open three times in his career. However, in recent years, he has been struggling with his game owing to injuries and even failed to make the cut at the PGA Championship last month. Moving ahead, it will be interesting to see if he can bounce back and win the Major on Sunday, June 16.
Min Woo Lee looking for his maiden Major win at the US Open 2024
Having turned pro in 2019, Min Woo Lee has won four professional events in his career. He has also played in all four Majors but is still looking for his maiden win at one of these tournaments.
The Australian golfer made his debut at the US Open in 2022 and tied for 27th place, followed by a T5 finish in 2023. In fact, his best finish at a Major was recorded at the US Open. He has been in good form this season and is hoping to achieve his maiden victory this week.
Min Woo Lee has played in 11 tournaments this season and was the runner-up at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches. He has also played in the last two Majors and finished in the top 25, tying for 22nd place at the 2024 Masters and T26 at the 2024 PGA Championship. Now, he is gearing up for the US Open.
Min Woo Lee will tee off for the upcoming Major on Thursday, June 13, on the first tee hole. He will be joined by Sahith Theegala and Nicolai Hojgaard, starting the play at 8:02 a.m. ET. The tournament will have its finale on Sunday, June 16.
