Indiana Fever stars Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull have been making waves on the golf course rather than a basketball court. The two WNBA stars recently shared a video on TikTok of them having fun on the course.
In the video, Clark hit a shot that landed "inches away" from a hole-in-one. The WNBA star looked ecstatic and rolled on the grass, double checking if she in fact had holed in one. She eventually recorded a birdie.
Fans loved the amusing antics by Clark and Hull as they showered the video with appreciation. One fan wrote on X:
"Name a better duo. I’ll wait…"
"Is there anything she Can't do??" another fan wondered.
"Caitlin is *inches away* from leaving the WNBA and joining the LPGA full time." one fan wrote.
"even she's surprised at her own greatness," another added.
However, some fans didn't agree that Clark was close to actually making a hole-in-one although they commended her shot.
"Great shot but inches?" one fan questioned.
"Inches away - 36 inches to be exact," another said.
Nevertheless, fans were excited to see Caitlin Clark ditch the basketball to pick up golf clubs for a while after it was announced that she would be participating in a pro-am of an LPGA Tour event.
Which golf event is Caitlin Clark participating in?
Caitlin Clark will be seen teeing off at The Annika LPGA event in November this year. The newly-crowned WNBA Rookie of the Year is an ambassador for the event sponsor, Gainbridge. The tournament is hosted by the legendary Annika Sorenstam.
It will be interesting to see if the CC effect follows the Indiana player to the golf course as well. Clark has been a key factor in the increasing popularity of women's basketball in the US after her spectacular run with the University of Iowa.
The 22-year-old had said that she often golfs in her off-season. In a press release, Clark talked about playing in the pro-am (via Golf.com):
"I love golf so the opportunity to play in the pro-am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika."
Clark will also be a panelist at the Women's Leadership Summit that will take place on the eve of the pro-am. This is not the first time she will be in action at a pro-am. Clark had participated in the 2023 John Deere Classic pro-am with fellow Iowan Zach Johnson.
