Nelly Korda is set to compete in her fourth straight Solheim Cup but is yet to taste success. However, she's determined to change the team's result and end the US' losing streak this time.
The 2024 Solheim Cup will begin on Friday, September 13, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. The United States team hasn't won the tournament since 2017.
During the pre-event press conference on Tuesday, September 10, Korda reflected on her goal for this week.
"We got some unfinished business," she said as per Golf Monthly. "This year has kind of been a crazy year, I feel like. Getting to clinch my spot on the team so early on in the season definitely means a lot."
"Getting to represent my country, I've been lucky enough and honored enough to do it a couple of times, and every single time, whenever you get to wear the red, white, and blue and stars and stripes, there's a different meaning to it. You're playing not just for yourself, but for your captains, for your teammates and your country, and there's just nothing like it." she added.
The 26-year-old golfer has been in incredible form this season. She won six titles, including five back-to-back. Additionally, she finished as the runner-up at the AIG Women's Open last month. Now, she hopes to add another feather to her cap this week.
Other than Korda, the US team features Allisen Corpuz, Megan Khang, Andrea Lee, Lilia Vu, Lauren Coughlin, Ally Ewing, Rose Zhang, Alison Lee, Jennifer Kupcho, Sarah Schmelzel, and Lexi Thompson.
