Nelly Korda was all set to begin the LPGA Tour's Asian swing this week at the BMW Ladies Championship. However, a neck injury has forced her to withdraw from both this week's and next week's tournament.
Korda's last appearance was at the Kroger Queen City Championship at TPC River's Bend where she tied for fifth. She was preparing to compete at Seowon Valley Country Club in South Korea but suffered a neck injury on Monday, October 14, during practice for the Asian Swing.
Korda shared an update about her injury on Instagram on Monday.
"Hey everyone, I wanted to share an update regarding my upcoming schedule," she wrote. "Unfortunately, I've had to withdraw from the LPGA events in Korea and Malaysia due to a minor neck injury I sustained while practicing.
"I'm disappointed to miss these events and am especially sorry to my fans who were looking forward to seeing me play. I'm currently resting and working with my team to get better. Thank you for all your support-it truly means the world to me," she added.
When will Nelly Korda return to action on the LPGA Tour?
The World No. 1 golfer didn't share any information regarding her return. The Asian swing will conclude with the Toto Japan Classic, which will be played from October 31 to November 3. The season will end with the CME Group Tour Championship held in Florida.
Nelly Korda has had an incredible season so far, winning six events on the LPGA Tour. Five of the wins came consecutively, with the sixth coming in her seventh start. She also won the Chevron Championship, her second major championship.
The 26-year-old golfer finished the Solheim Cup with a 3-1 record, helping Team USA win the event for the first time in seven years. Korda is currently leading the Race to the CME Globe standings with a 1,235-point lead over Lydia Ko. For the uninitiated, she has yet to win the season-long points race in her career.
