Nelly Korda is gearing up to participate in her second Olympic Games. Nelly Korda is the defending Champion as he won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. The women's golf event at the Paris Olympics will begin on Wednesday, August 7, at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France.

Before the event, many golfers were asked about their nickname, Paris goal, and their favorite Olympic Sport. Nelly Korda stood out with her answers, much like she has stood out on the LPGA Tour this year. Korda stated that her goal in Paris was to "Try a Crookie #Yum"

A crookie is a croissant made with cookie dough. It was initially made by pastry chef Stephane Louvard and became a viral sensation after TikTok influencer Johan Papz featured it in one of his videos. Since then, the outburst of crookie love has led to skyrocketing sales and long queues at Louvard's bakery. He now sells 1,000-1,600 crookies daily.

Korda's goal even trumped World No.1 Scottie Scheffler's Paris Olympics goal of "having fun." Korda also mentioned that her other goal in Paris is to "play some good golf too." Talking about defending her title, Korda said (via LPGA):

"Doesn't really feel like I'm defending, really. I'm just going to go out, enjoy the experience, hopefully enjoy the fans. The men had amazing fans out here. I was wowed by how many people are out here watching and just happy that I'm back in this position. I'm here representing my country. I'm a two-time Olympian and I'm living out my dream."

Korda will tee off with Jin Young Ko of Korea and Ruoning Yin of China at 9:55 am local time on Wednesday, August 7.

A look at Nelly Korda's performances in 2024

Nelly Korda has had a sensational 2024 season with six wins. In 12 starts, Korda has seven top-10 finishes this year. She also won the second Major of her career, the Chevron Championship, by two strokes over Maja Stark. However, after the Mizuho Americas win, her performance has dwindled. She missed three straight cuts and finished T26 at the Amundi Evian Championship.

Talking about her recent performances, Nelly Korda said (via LPGA):

"The game of golf of is a funny game. Sometimes you feel on top of the world and in a matter of a couple seconds, you just feel like you're on the bottom of the sea. So it definitely makes you appreciate the good golf that you play, but yeah, I mean, you have to have a mix of everything in there and everything can't always go well."

Nelly Korda is currently leading the Race to CME Globe. She has 3318 points and is 1237 points ahead of Ayaka Furue. Let's take a look at Nelly Korda's performances in the 2024 season:
