Nelly Korda was at the LPGA awards ceremony, and she donned an all-black outfit for the occasion. The golfer was one of the most successful last year, winning seven times in a historic season. She won multiple awards for her performance, and a new Instagram reel shows off her impressive outfit from the ceremony.
Korda shared this on her story as well, but the video was originally posted on LPGA Tour's official Instagram page. They captioned it:
"Let's make some noise for Nelly Korda's green carpet look."
The World No. 1 golfer posed and smiled for the cameras in front of a Rolex and LPGA branded background. Korda was named Player of the Year, following Scottie Scheffler's feat on the men's side of golf.
Korda had another excellent year that yielded this award in 2021, so it was a repeat victory for her. After capturing a historic seven titles, including her second career Major at the Chevron Championship and five in a row at one point, Korda was the favorite for the award.
Her season and the award deserved an equally impressive outfit for a night that was partly designed to honor her, and she delivered with a stunning black dress.
Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler react to major award wins
Nelly Korda had 11 top-10 finishes despite missing some time with a neck injury. She earned 88.6% of the votes, beating Atthaya Thitikul and Lydia Ko to the accolade. Korda subsequently acknowledged winning the historic award for the second time and said:
“It means a lot to me to win this prestigious award for a second time. I am very grateful to all the writers and journalists that cover our sport. It is always special to be recognized by the Golf Writers Association of America and to be the Player of the Year is a tremendous honor. It is certainly something I am proud of and will look back on in my career.” [via PGA Tour]
This was also Scottie Scheffler's second time winning this award. On the back of this impressive achievement, the American said:
“I am extremely honored to be named the GWAA Player of the Year Award for the second time. 2024 was a year I will never forget. From winning my second PLAYERS and Masters, to winning Olympic gold, the FedExCup, to the birth of my son.”
At one point, both of these golfers were on incredible winning streaks at the same general time during the year, so it's fitting that they are now linked with the awards honoring their play.
