Charley Hull shared an Instagram video of herself working out. The pro golfer is often in the gym trying to keep her body strong to play four good rounds of golf on the weekends, and her latest social media post is more evidence of that.
She began her post by sharing a few slowed-down videos of her swing. Hull is one of the top-ranked golfers in the world, and a good swing that can be repeated every single time is part of that.
After showing off her swing in two videos, she posted the actual workout. The English golfer was doing pushups and pulling weights down in two different videos, each one exercising a different part of her upper body. Check them out below.
This sparked a lot of conversation among fans, with one commenting," Nice pushups" and others adding their own takes.
There were quite a few adoring comments supporting Hull in the first half-hour of the post being active on Instagram.
Charley Hull vows to quit smoking some day
Charley Hull is aware that her smoking is what pushed her into the mainstream. Via Golf Monthly, she said it was "quite funny" that all the fuss over her came because she was smoking.
She happened to be smoking while a fan wanted an autograph, and she said she always likes to sign for fans. This prompted comparisons with John Daly, who notoriously smoked and drank during his playing career.
Hull rejected this, citing her good shape and constant exercise like the videos she just posted to Instagram:
"I find it quite funny, because I actually do go to the gym and I'm a very healthy person. I only smoke. I hardly drink. I don't need to drink because actually I can have a fun time without it."
As for the smoking that she does engage in, it's not something she's worried about. Charley Hull said her dad has smoked more than a few cigarettes every day since he was 12, and he's healthy at 75.
Hull added:
"My whole family smokes, so it's not something that I've noticed being odd."
The English golfer used to hate smoking, even going so far as to curse at her dad for his smoking, but she admits it's something to do when stressed. Hull went on:
"I was a bit stressed last year and I just kind of vaped, and I wanted to stop vaping, and even though smoking is not better than vaping, it's just you can vape indoors all the time. I thought if I smoke, I'm going to go outside and smoke a cigarette. When it's a slow round on the golf course I smoke quite a few more than I should.
She finished by saying that she "will stop soon," and that it's only a matter of when she quits, not if.
