"Nice record to have": Tommy Fleetwood reflects on his pristine foursomes record

Tommy Fleetwood has played many foursomes matches throughout his career, both in the Ryder Cup and in other team events. He has a brilliant record in this format and has maintained this throughout the 2025 Team Cup.

This did not go unnoticed by the press covering the Team Cup after Tommy Fleetwood won his two foursomes matches on the second day of the event. When asked about it, Fleetwood said it was a "nice record to have".

"I've got no answer then. It is partners; it is a nice record to have, I guess. But once again, go out with somebody like Jordan [Smith], he is literally a perfect foursomes partner."

Reflecting on their performance, Fleetwood added:

"We had the ball in play all day and although at times it was a little bit frustrating when it was generally me that wasn't making the putts. But we were just very relentless tee-to-green today, and we played very well on what I thought was a pretty difficult afternoon, really."

Tommy Fleetwood played the first foursomes match of the Team Cup 2025 with Justin Rose, defeating Francesco Molinari and Julien Guerrier 2&1. In the afternoon, Fleetwood played with Jordan Smith and again defeated Molinari and Guerrier 3&2.
