The former PGA Tour pro Steve Wheatcroft opened up about his struggles with alcoholism and depression last Sunday. The golfer turned professional in 2001 and played till 2022. His last tournament was at the Club Car Championship at The Landings Club of the Korn Ferry Tour. In that event, Wheatcroft missed the cutline after shooting 72 and 72 in two rounds.

Following that, that golfer didn't play any PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour events. Last Sunday, he tweeted on X that he had kept everything to himself and wanted to share his story.

“The thing about hanging on by a thread is that it’s always just that close to snapping. I should’ve spent time building that thread up, but instead I assumed everything would work itself out. Until the day came that it didn’t..... No more silence. My Story in bio. PLZ SHARE,” Steve Wheatcroft said.

The golfer wrote his story in document format and uploaded it to One Drive. The link is shared in his X bio. The start of his story clarifies how he aimed to help others by sharing his life story.

“Maybe it helps you to number one in the world. Maybe it saves your marriage. Maybe it does nothing for you. Netflix ain't going anywhere, so just keep reading,” Steve Wheatcroft wrote in his story.

Following that, he narrates his journey with alcoholism, and at the end of his story, asks people to reach out to him if they resonate with his narrative.
