PGA Tour rookie Nick Dunlap recently said that the pro game can be frustrating sometimes. He mentioned that it can feel a little lonely and like one is on an island at times.

Dunlap, who turned pro earlier this year after winning the American Express, is on his 15th start in his rookie season. He carded a 3-under 69 on Friday, June 28, to aggregate at 8-under after two rounds of the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Reflecting on his professional game, Nick Dunlap stated that it can get frustrating at times. He realized that he couldn't always attack holes with sand wedges. He also found it eye-opening to realize that targeting greens was not always necessary despite being on the fairway.

"It’s taken me a little while to realize how to play some of these golf courses," he was quoted as saying via Golfweek. "Even par is a great score. Most of the time on the weekends it gets even harder."

Speaking on the support, the 20-year-old golfer said that other players on the PGA Tour had been nice to him and offered him help whenever he needed.

"It was a little bit of an odd situation, but I’m 20, and there’s not a whole lot of my peers out here currently. It can be a little lonely at times. Feel like you’re on an island a little bit. A lot of the guys have been very gracious and reaching out, making sure that I don’t feel that way." he added.

Nick Dunlap turned pro after winning at La Quinta but has had only two top 15s since then. He missed five cuts including all three majors. He is currently 93rd on the FedEx Cup standings but will hope to break into the top 70 with a good run this week as well as in the remaining events.
