Sahith Theegala lauded praise to the people of Los Angeles and its first responders amidst the brutal fire that erupted in the city. Earlier this month, the South Californian city suffered a huge loss because of the wildfire that had affected the area. Thousands of buildings were destroyed in the disaster.

Theegala, who plays for the Los Angeles Golf Club in the TGL, lauded praise to the people of the city for their "resilience" while he also appreciated the efforts of the first responders.

Speaking of the disaster, Theegala said:

"LA is super resilient, one of the best cities in the world for a reason, and a lot of that is the people. A lot of resilient people. A huge shout out to the first responders. They're putting their lives on the lines to save not only people's lives but people's livelihoods."

Notably, Sahith Theegala's LA Golf Club competed in the TGL on January 14. The team had a remarkable start to the season with a marvelous victory in the game. They won eight holes in the triples and four in the singles to win the game by an overall score of 12-1 against Jupiter Links Golf Club. In the singles, Theegala won on the 15th hole for the team against Max Homa.

Sahith Theegala opens about the horrific disaster in LA

During the press conference of the TGL second matchup between LA and Jupiter Links on January 14, Sahith Theegala reflected on the tragic accident. He revealed how many of his friends were evacuated.

Sahith said, via ASAP Sports:

"I was in Honolulu last week, and to be honest, I was pretty distracted all week waiting on updates. A lot of my friends and family evacuated, and I hope Carl doesn't mind me sharing this, but his sister's house burned down, and he stuck it through on my bag last week, and he was here this week. I know his family is having a hard time.
"It's just crazy. It's crazy to have it hit so close to home. It just feels like it's happened too much in recent times. I was on Pepperdine's campus during the '18 Woolsey fire, and it just feels like an ongoing thing the last six, seven years. There's no slowing down," he added.

Meanwhile, aside from the TGL matches, Sahith Theegala competed in two PGA Tour events in 2025. He started his campaign at the season-opening The Sentry, where he struggled in the first round and played a round of 76. However, he next played three rounds of 68, 67, and 66 and tied for 36th place.

Theegala next played in the Sony Open in Hawaii and played the four rounds of 67, 67, 71, and 67 and tied for 37th place.
