K.J. Choi shared a unique drill on the bunker in a video tweeted by PGA Tour Champions yesterday. The South Korean golfer explained how he prepares by better aligning his arms before hitting a shot by practicing a hammer swing.

Showing the drill standing in the bunker, Choi said:

"I'm practicing in the bunker with a hammer swing. It's my first thing (to do). The hammer swing is important for two things, the grip and the angle and then the third thing is the power. You hit the ground at exactly 90 degrees at the hit. So some people have the grip wrong or the angle wrong in the downswing like that."
"There is always an iron shot (where) the hands are too much to the left. So we get in the bunker and get the grips first and the angle straight down. So, I'll show you. The first time everyone goes like this. But there are too much hands (moving). But what we do, is we come straight down, straight down," K.J. Choi added.

Fans jumped to the comment section to react to the unique drill.

"Is this legal?" one said.
"Only when I'm pissed off!!!" another wrote.
"This will probably help a lot of people. Love it!" a third fan said.

One fan commented on K.J. Choi's drill by comparing it to Tiger Woods's.

"KJ showing that the club gets released early in bunker shots. Tiger would describe throwing the club with his right hand at the ball very early. It’s the exact opposite of dragging the handle," they wrote.
"This is so good," another said.
"It makes a ton of sense but the image of the guys in rows doing it is still hilarious," a fan wrote.

Choi kickstarted his 2025 campaign playing on the PGA Tour Champions and had a solid outing in the one event he played this season.
