Padraig Harrington's son, Paddy, carded an ace during the second round of the 2024 PNC Championship. It was the second hole-in-one of the day, as Charlie Woods made the first of his career about 30 minutes earlier.
The play occurred as Paddy Harrington was teeing off on the 8th hole. As reported by Golfweek, Paddy's tee box was 185 yards away for a par 3 hole. Paddy hit his shot with a 6 iron, the ball landed less than three feet from the hole and went straight in.
Footage circulating on social media shows Paddy celebrating his ace with all those present. Padraig Harrington was a little out of it at the time, but immediately joined in the celebration.
Up to that point, Padraig Harrington and his son had made four birdies without a bogey in the second round of the PNC Championship. After the eagle on the 8th hole, they made another five birdies without a bogey through the 16th.
The day before, Team Harrington had 13 birdies and one bogey for a 12-under 60. With this performance, they finished the first 18 holes in a tie for fourth place, one stroke off the lead.
Minutes before Paddy Harrington's play, Charlie Woods made the first ace of his career on the par-3, 178-yard 4th hole.
