Patton Kizzire's Procore Championship win witnessed almost half as many viewers as Jon Rahm's victory at LIV Golf Chicago. The PGA Tour event could garner only 69,000 viewers on Sunday, September 15.
Last week, both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf were in action. On one hand, it was the start of the fall season for the Tour, and on the other, it was the season finale for the Saudi-backed circuit. Besides Procore Championship and LIV Golf Chicago, there was more action for golf fans, with the Solheim Cup and the Irish Open also taking place.
According to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal, the Procore Championship saw a huge dip in viewership compared to last year. Only 69,000 viewers tuned in for the Sunday finale, compared to last year's edition, which garnered 298,000 viewers.
On the other hand, there were positive signs for LIV Golf. According to Sports TV Ratings on X, LIV Golf Chicago garnered 134,000 viewers for the second round and 89,000 for the Sunday finale.
The Solheim Cup was the winner of the viewership battle as it drew 657,000 viewers on NBC, which was the highest in the past three editions. Notably, the 2017 edition had garnered 946,000 viewers on NBC.
