The PGA of America announced that the Team USA golfers will receive a $200,000 stipend for competing in the 2025 Ryder Cup, with $300,000 going to charity. The PGA of America shared this news as they issued a statement and shared the link to the article on X (formerly Twitter).

Reacting to this, Dan Rapaport, a prominent golf journalist on X, wrote that this feels like the middle road.

"$300,000 to charity, $200,000 stipend feels like the middle road. More symbolic than anything as if you’re one of the 12 best American golfers, 200 grand ain’t making much of a difference in your life," said Rapaport on X.

In the statement issued by the PGA of America, the board of directors has decided to increase the allocation to the members of the US Ryder Cup team. They also revealed no golfers asked to be compensated, but the PGA of America Board of Directors voted to increase the allocation.

Earlier, the amount allocated for charities was $200,000, which was unchanged since 1999. However, they have increased the amount to $500,000, with $300,000 going for the charity or charities of the player's choice, and the remaining $200,000 will be a stipend for players.

The 2025 Ryder Cup will begin on 26th September at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale, New York. Keegan Bradley will lead the home side, Team USA, while Luke Donald will be in charge of Team Europe.

Luke Donald has captaincy experience as he led the European side to victory last year, while Bradley will be leading a side for the first time. So, during the Ryder Cup media conference in October, the 38-year-old Team USA skipper talked about the challenges he might face as a skipper next year.

"Well, you know, just getting the pairings in after the session, managing, preparing to play with preparing the guys and preparing -- getting the pairings ready. I think it would be a really difficult job," Bradley said.

Continuing further, Bradley said he has promised himself he will not worry about these things until the time comes. He added:

"But I made a promise to myself that I'm not going to worry about this until the time comes if I do. It's really difficult to make the American Team every year; you have to go out and really perform."

He said his focus currently is on getting the guys ready although he acknowledged his participation in other major events.

"Like I said, right now, my focus is on being a captain but I'm still a full-time player. I'm still playing in all the majors and all the big events next year. So I have a real shot at doing this. For now, I'm focusing on my guys and getting them ready to go," Bradley concluded.

Keegan Bradley will have an additional task on his shoulders next year, as he tries to help his side to victory after Team USA lost the previous Ryder Cup to Team Europe, who won the event with a dominant scoreline of 16.5 to 11.5.
