Aside from the money, other things were at stake. LIV Golf once again came into this tournament outmatched and counted out. Many didn't expect their golfers to compete well, but they did just that.
Brooks Koepka's performance, coupled with his T2 finish at the Masters, has not just earned him a pretty penny. They have also proven that LIV Golf is more legitimate than people may think and has the star power to compete in a mixed field.
Phil Mickelson made the cut, but he didn't play all that well like he did at the Masters. He earned a little bit of money but couldn't follow up his T2 at the Masters with anything of note. Thankfully, Koepka's historic win picked up the slack.
It was a historic event with a major prize purse total of over $17 million, so Koepka took home a record payout.
Golfers such as Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, and Matt Fitzpatrick failed to make the cut and earn any money from their appearance in the PGA Championship.
