Michael Kim turned professional in 2013 and joined the PGA Tour three years later. For the 2024 season, the Texas native took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) platform to disclose his travel expenses.
Having made 30 starts on the PGA Tour this year, Kim racked up a whopping $92,698.11 in flights and hotels. He stated that he spent "zero dollars" on flying privately and also said that he spent most of the season flying in economy class.
Kim was surprised by his expenditure and claimed that he couldn't imagine the costs top PGA Tour players had incurred. To look on the brighter side of things, he was grateful for racking up points on his credit card.
He said (via X @Mike_kim714):
"This is my spending on flights and hotels for 30 tournaments in 2024. Zero dollars spent on private flights, and rarely business class. Can’t imagine some of the top guys’ costs… At least I’m racking up some CC points!"
Kim also attached a graph of his travel expenses for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. While his spend this year was mind-blowing, he also spent around $100,000 last year.
