PGA Tour pro Michael S. Kim has suggested NFL's Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell a suitable role in golf. Recently, a video of the Vikings head coach went viral on the internet, where he was giving instructions to quarterback Sam Darnold.

In the match between Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings last week, O'Connell gave insightful instructions to their QB from the sidelines. NFL writer Chad Graff shared the video of the Vikings coach on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:

"This is such a good example of how a head coach can help bring out the best in their players."

PGA Tour pro Michael S. Kim jumped to the comments section and suggested an interesting role for O'Connell in golf. He wrote:

"He’d made a great caddie."

Michael S. Kim is known for his active presence on social media. He pretty often shares posts on X, where he has around 130K followers.

PGA Tour pro Michael S. Kim shares insights on "how club deals work"

As the 2025 PGA Tour season started with its opening event, The Sentry, this week, equipment deals of the players grabbed major attention. Recently, Max Homa split with Titleist and signed a new equipment deal with Cobra/Puma.

Michael S. Kim opened up about players changing their equipment and "how club deals work" by sharing a post on X. He wrote:

"Changing equipment from a company a player has had success with is really a big commitment. A player can test all they want on a range or on their home course but it is never the same for tournament golf. I’ve heard of many stories where a player loved their new equipment on the range and golf course but during tournament play, it didn’t react the way they wanted and struggled for a while."
"The first few tournaments are really important. It becomes an issue if you see a miss you’re not used to seeing with a new club. The thought of was that me or was that the club inevitably creeps into the players mind. It’s a hard feeling to fight off. But if you get off to a good start, those doubts don’t weigh on you nearly as much. I do also firmly believe that the gap between all the companies has lessened," he added.

Notably, Michael S. Kim is not playing this week at The Sentry. He is yet to start his campaign for the 2025 season. Meanwhile, in the last season, out of the 30 tournaments he played, he made the cut in 17 of them. Kim recorded two finishes in the top 10 in 2024.

Some of his best finishes in the 2024 season were T6 at the American Express, T14 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, T11 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T5 at the Shriners Children's Open, T12 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, and T11 at the RSM Classic.
