PGA Tour Superstore recently released a limited edition "Scottie Schuffle" shirt. The world's leading golf equipment retailer has priced the shirt at $5000. The tour also announced that a portion of the proceeds would go to a non-profit organization "Behind Every Door."
Scottie Scheffler had an impressive 2024 season as he won nine tournaments, including the Olympic gold and the recently-concluded Hero World Challenge. The official handle of the PGA Tour took to X and posted a picture of Scheffler posing with the "Scottie Schuffle" shirt on Tuesday, December 11. It captioned the post:
"Perfect fit for the PGA TOUR Player of the Year"
In a follow-up post, the PGA Tour said that the shirt can be bought online from the PGA Tour Superstore's website or offline from the Dallas PGA TOUR Superstore.
The t-shirt has a minimalistic design, with the front showing Scheffler's iconic shuffle during his swing while the back is text-heavy, depicting the 28-year-old's victories and awards. It reads:
"SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER’S 2024 WINNER’S CIRCLE: Orlando, Ponte Vedra Beach, Augusta, Hilton Head Island, Dublin, Cromwell, Paris, Atlanta, Montreal"
It also had the mention of the "Jack Nicklaus Award" for being the "PGA Tour Player of the Year" and the "FedExCup Champion" at the bottom.
In a TaylorMade Golf 2022 video, Scottie Scheffler explained that his shuffle helps him generate power. He said that instead of keeping his feet planted during the swing, he shifts his weight from the right side to the left side. The sliding of feet helped him transfer all his energy into hitting the ball. He said:
"What I’m trying to do to get power in my golf swing is load into my right side and then come off my right side and go into my left. So, in order to get weight from here to there when I slide my feet, it makes sure I get all my weight kind of through the ball." (0:11-0:22)
PGA Tour player Scottie Scheffler talked about his famous "schuffle"
Earlier in the year at the press conference at the 2024 Open Championship, Scottie Scheffler had talked about his unique foot moment. Talking about it, he said (via PGA Tour):
"In terms of my footwork, I just felt too kind of locked in and unnatural if I don't do what my feet normally do, because it may look funny to y'all, but it feels totally normal to me. I never thought twice about it."
"That was kind of my calling card when I first came on tour was my footwork, and it was something I never really thought about because that's just always what I did," he added.
Recently, Scottie Scheffler was adjudged as the PGA Tour player of the year for the third consecutive year. He won four tournaments in 2022 including the Masters tournament and two tournaments in 2023 including the Players Championship.
