PGA Tour winner Michael S. Kim recently downplayed Will Zalatoris’s muscle growth journey in a social media post. Golf Channel’s X page shared that Zalatoris gained 15 pounds during the 2024 off-season.

In the video, Zalatoris also shared that he's been working on himself to gain muscles. He stated:

“For someone who's a ball striker I'm going to have a lot of 10 to 25 footers and I felt like last year I was hitting good putts but just wasn't making as many as I should. But, you know, it's kind of been a fun offseason in the sense that I put on a lot of muscle, I put on 15 pounds of muscle. I worked really hard September, October, November and then I played in South Africa and then I just kind of shut it down for a little bit.”

He continued to talk about how the muscles he put on helped him achieve symmetry between his golf swing and body.

“I think the muscle that I've put on has helped a lot. I think the fact that I am able to keep the ball speed up to where I want to be, but also not do it to where it's detrimental to my long term health. So I think, everything's feeling really good. I spent a lot of time last year trying to figure out, you know, sometimes, aspects in my swing,” Zalatoris said.

Michael S. Kim replied to this Golf Channel's video and said:

“Lol just cuz you weigh 15-20lbs doesn’t mean you put on that much in pure muscle in a short timeframe. I’m glad he’s feeling strong though!”

Kim didn't play at the first PGA Tour event of 2025, the Sentry Tournament. At the same time, Zalatoris played and finished at T12 with a score of 11 under 135.

PGA Tour winner Michael S. Kim shared his experience of trying the GT280 driver

Michael S. Kim shared a post on his X page detailing his experience of playing with the new GT280 driver. He wrote that the new driver has the same shaft as the old one but emphasised on the lower spin that it is capable of producing.

“I tried the new mini driver GT280. It’s the same shaft as my driver. It flies very straight and very forgiving. But it’s def not an every week club for me. Compared to my normal 3w, it flies pretty low and the spin is on the lower side too,” Michael S. Kim wrote.

He ended the post by stating that he'd use the new driver as a speciality equipment when hitting with a 3-wood wouldn't be an option. He also added that he might use the new club at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
